Mallory Chipman (she/they) is an award-winning musician from Edmonton, living and creating on Treaty Six Territory. Alongside her performance work, Mallory actively works as a songwriter, producer, and music educator, and is celebrated for the way she traverses genre boundaries and centres authentic storytelling and expression. She holds her BMus in jazz and contemporary vocal performance and her MMus in contemporary popular music performance with a specialty in songwriting. She has been on faculty teaching music at MacEwan University for seven years, and has recently stepped into the role of Section Head of Voice. Mallory’s most recent research has been on the music of at-risk Alberta birds and explores how zoomusicology can boost awareness of species decline in the prairies.
