Roberta Baril has taught in various junior and senior high band programs for over 30 years. She has received many accolades during her successful career including a Provincial Excellence in Teaching award, the Elkhorn Award, the David Peterkin Award, and was recently inducted into the John Phillip Sousa Legion of Honor.
Roberta has become known for her work in the areas of music advocacy and teacher mentorship. Currently she works at the University of Alberta as the director of field experience for the Faculty of Education.  She remains active as a tuba player as a member of the Edmonton Winds (which constitutes a date night with husband Raymond who conductos the ensemble.) 
Roberta firmly believes in the vital role that music plays in the pursuit of a fulfilled life in our complex times.  She celebrates that school music rooms are spaces where students learn to be happy and connected in a safe and welcoming environment.
