Bernard Quilala has been involved in the local and international music scene since his appearance on national television shows such as Popstars: The One and Canadian Idol. Since then, he’s sung backup for Ben Folds and Jonny Reid and been the opening act for Blue Rodeo, Glass Tiger, Michael Bolton and Jay Leno. When he's not singing as a solo act, he sings in multiple projects such as The Hit List, The Men of Motown, Party In The Back as well as with the acapella band, 6 Minute Warning. Throughout his singing career, Bernard has also worked as a Registered Nurse in the Mental Health helping patients to manage their symptoms of depression, anxiety, and PTSD. Through his counselling work, Bernard teaches skills informed by the concepts of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy as well as other modalities to empower people to make changes that will improve their overall health and happiness.
