Dr. Angela Schroeder is an award-winning professor and conductor, and is currently Professor of Music in the Department of Music at the University of Alberta in Edmonton AB. She is the Director of Bands, the Area Coordinator for Winds and Percussion, and conducts the Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Summer Band. She teaches courses in conducting and music education, and works with graduate students in instrumental conducting. Angela has performed, adjudicated and presented internationally, including across Canada, the United States, Germany, Austria, Australia and Thailand. Angela is also the music director and conductor of the St. Albert Community Band, an ensemble that is currently in their 52nd concert season. Her research interests include repertoire selection, rehearsal methods and conducting pedagogy as it relates to the practice of Tai Chi and Yoga. She serves on the International Board of Phi Beta Mu, the board for the College Band Directors National Association (CBDNA) - Northwest Division, and is a board member for the Women Band Directors International (WBDI) - Alberta Chapter.
