Winston Noren is a versatile musician who has been active as a teacher, conductor and soloist for over 35 years. Since 1981, he has been a faculty member at Mount Royal University Conservatory where he teaches 40 voice students. Mr. Noren has given numerous master classes and workshops, and has adjudicated festivals across Canada.
Noren has extensive experience as a choral conductor and artistic director. For several years, he conducted the Caecilian Singers, a woman’s choir which was frequently recorded for broadcast by CBC Radio. He has also been a conductor for the Alberta Summer Music Workshop, the Mount Royal Children’s Choir, the Calgary Gilbert and Sullivan Society and the Alberta Centennial Choir. As a baritone soloist, Noren has appeared often with several choirs in the Calgary area. He is past president of the Calgary Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing and a member of The Royal Conservatory College of Examiners. |
